A Thornton City council member raised an issue about unpaid invoices from Almost Home and asked the city manager to follow up so the nonprofit receives funds tied to the Thornton Affordable (TAF) funding stream.
"I was contacted today by the executive director from Almost Home, and she's, informed me that the Almost Home has submitted 3 separate invoices going back to the fall of last year, not been paid by the city of Thornton," Council member Justin said. He asked staff to investigate because the invoices, believed to be supported by documentation, had not been paid.
City staff responded that they were not previously aware of the issue and said they would "follow-up immediately this week." The council member offered to provide invoice numbers to assist staff. The city manager's office agreed to provide a status update to the council, potentially as soon as next week.
Staff indicated the invoices likely relate to TAF funding and that the finance director at Almost Home believes submission requirements were met, but staff did not provide specifics in the meeting and said they would investigate.
