The Germantown School District Board on July 15 approved its consent agenda, which included the June 16 meeting minutes, teacher contracts and a set of donations to district schools and activities. Donations approved on the record included: McArthur Elementary PTA, $12,978.61 for admissions and busing for field trips; an anonymous donor, $5,100 to Germantown High School general football program needs; MGS, $1,000 to Germantown High School Pom and Dance team; Halt Imagery photo studio, $500 to the Germantown High School Pom and Dance team; and R & R Insurance, $500 to Germantown High School Pom and Dance team. Total donations listed in the consent agenda amounted to $20,078.61. Human Resources reported four hires approved in the consent agenda and noted additional vacancies being actively recruited: one special-education cross-category teacher at the middle school, a FACE (Family and Consumer Education) teacher at the middle school, and other aides and support staff. The district said it has been more aggressive in recruiting this year to expand candidate pools. The consent agenda passed by voice vote with no recorded opposition.
