The Carroll County Board of Education on July 16 approved six award-of-bid items covering facilities, athletics and food-service sanitation. Approvals included architecture and engineering services for the Shiloh School roof replacement (to be paid from the capital improvement project account), track repairs at Liberty High School (funded through the local CIP infrastructure renewal project), a piggyback contract for annual food-service sanitation and cleaning (paid from the Food Services program budget), a cooperative purchasing contract for football helmets and shoulder pads for the school year, and a sole-source contract for standardized athletic field lining. Board Member Dr. Dorsey flagged a typographical error in the school construction report referencing the Shiloh roof timeline; staff said they would correct the June 16/July date in the permanent board documents on the website. Board members discussed centralizing athletic field lining as a district service rather than leaving it to individual schools; staff said the award reflects standardization and centralization. All award items passed by unanimous board vote.
