The Lancaster County Economic Development Authority on July 17 approved a $10,000 grant for Summit Vinyl Company to support staffing, inventory and early operations for a new vinyl and aluminum fence manufacturing business in Whitestone.
Summit Vinyl’s owner, Frederick Johnson, told the EDA that ongoing supply delays from distant suppliers have constrained his ability to meet demand and that vertical integration — producing vinyl fence components locally — would address that bottleneck. He described prior business growth: "In 2020, I was at $700,000 in sales for the fence business ... and last year's 1.3" (million), and said he has already invested roughly $150,000 into the startup.
