Finance committee recommends demolition contract and approves $15.8M Jacobs extension

The Diversion Authority Finance Committee on June 25 recommended awarding a demolition work package and approved a multi-million-dollar contract extension for engineering services.
Chris Bockergard, engineer for the Metro Flood Diversion Authority, recommended awarding Work Package 38C (demolition) to Industrial Builders, reporting a low bid of $229,660 and noting a competitive field of four bidders. "We had a good competitive bid field here," Bockergard said. The committee voted to award the demolition contract to Industrial Builders.
Bockergard also recommended an extension of Jacobs Engineering’s contract (work performed under CH2M Hill Engineers) through the completion of the P3 construction program. He said the task order originally approved in 2019 was intended to run only to 2025 and that the extension, budgeted within the program, anticipates reduced work in 2027. The committee approved the Jacobs extension for $15,810,986.
Commissioners confirmed the Jacobs extension was anticipated in the program budget and that no program or cash-budget amendments were required for this amendment. The motions to approve both contracting items passed by roll call.
