Commission schedules July 30 business meeting; members invited to Brand Gallery opening

Staff said the exhibition, titled "Leave It Soil," will be in the Brand Gallery—s project space and remain on view through Sept. 21. Commissioners were invited to attend the opening after the meeting if timing allowed.
Early in the meeting a procedural motion to approve the prior meeting minutes was made and recorded as approved. Separately, commissioners discussed recruitment: the commission has one vacancy and maintains a short list of potential nominees; staff said the commission does not independently appoint members but can supply names and recommendations to the appointing authority.
Staff also reminded commissioners to submit any individual notes or proposed discussion items in advance so the July 30 meeting can run efficiently. No contentious votes were taken on the scheduling or gallery announcement.
