The Columbia County Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval July 17 for a preliminary plat called Parkway Place at 1915 William Few Parkway, a proposed single-family subdivision of 63 lots in an R-2 zoning district. Staff said the development includes lots with a minimum size of 10,000 square feet and an average lot size of 11,371 square feet, consistent with R-2 standards. Setbacks described in the staff presentation included 55 feet from the road centerline and 10 feet from side and rear property lines. The project would provide approximately 12 acres of open space, sidewalks and street trees. A required sidewalk connection down William Few Parkway to the county Greenway appears on the plans; staff said that connection must be installed before final plat approval. With that condition, staff recommended approval and the commission voted to recommend approval. The commission’s recommendation will be forwarded to the Columbia County Board of Commissioners for final action on Aug. 5, 2025.
