Commission accepts executrix resignation in Reedy estate; interim accounting lists about $170,312 in assets

The commission accepted a request from the fiduciary office to allow Anne Marie Chambers to resign as executrix of the estate of Wyla Franklin Reedy. County fiduciary staff said the purported last will and testament was presented April 14, 2025, and initially accepted for probate, naming Chambers executrix; Chambers then filed to resign and submitted an interim settlement of accounts reporting approximately $170,312 in probate assets including real estate, bank accounts and vehicles. Fiduciary staff told the commission that no appraisement of probate and non-probate assets has been completed and therefore the estate’s claim deadline is not yet set. The office also reported it had received three creditor claims totaling more than $20,000. Attorney Patrick Henry assisted Chambers with filing the petition, and counsel representing other interested parties told the commission two sisters planned to waive claims and allow the estate to pass to the decedent’s child. Commissioners voted to accept Chambers’ resignation and the fiduciary staff said an order would be prepared and placed on public record by the end of the business day. No written objections had been received by the fiduciary office before the hearing, staff said.
