Champaign-based Pavlov Media requests permits to expand fiber service in Tinley Park

Sheldon described Pavlov as a high-speed fiber Internet and telephone company based in Champaign and said the firm is doing construction in nearby towns and expects to seek permits in Tinley Park.
“We are a high speed fiber Internet company,” Sheldon said, adding that the company prioritizes crew and resident safety in construction and aims to minimize inconvenience: “We prioritize working and trying to minimize inconveniences by having our staff work cooperatively with your staff, weekly updates about what’s happening, where we’re going, and making sure that we’re all on the same page.”
Sheldon said Pavlov has crews operating in nearby communities (he identified Monee and Peotone) and that the company intends to submit permit applications to Tinley Park in the coming weeks. He said designs are under way, that Pavlov uses its own crews to respond to outages, and that the company can serve single-family homes and apartment buildings.
Sheldon referenced the village’s right-of-way construction ordinance and said Pavlov has operated under an Illinois Municipal League model ordinance in other towns. He left printed brochures for officials and said he would follow up with village staff. No other members of the public spoke in the committee session.
