Moody family donates expanded pickleball courts at Roslyn Park; council accepts donation and awards construction contract

The Edina City Council on July 15 accepted a philanthropic gift from the Moody Family Foundation to expand and upgrade pickleball facilities at Roslyn Park and approved a construction contract to build the courts. The council adopted Resolution 2025‑55 to accept the donation and then approved the form of agreement with By2Minutes Roadways Inc. for construction; council members said they expected construction this year. Bruce Moody, representing the Moody family, told the council the project honors family members John and Melvin Moody. “When we first selected this site, it was all because of noise,” he said, adding the site is well sited and heavily used. The council voted unanimously to adopt the donation resolution and award the construction contract. The city will proceed to finalize the construction agreement and oversee implementation; staff said the work will be contracted and completed by a vendor and that Parks staff will administer construction and post‑installation improvements.
