At the Technical Transportation Committee’s July 2025 meeting staff briefed the committee on early federal-funding allocations for fiscal year 2026 and presented the MPO’s 18‑month letting list.
Staff said allocations have been logged by project but that, as the fiscal year has just begun, nothing has yet been obligated: “Of course, nothing has been obligated yet, but just to let all of you know that we've actually started tracking it.”
On the 18‑month letting list staff noted a July 9 letting in which four bids came in and the low bid exceeded the engineer’s estimate by over $500,000. Upcoming projects on the letting list include multiple I‑65 bridge thin‑deck overlays, a State Road 225 reconstruction targeted for a January 2026 letting, a Ninth Street federal aid project, and an emergency‑vehicle preemption contract targeted for April.
A committee member pointed out that a North Ninth Street item was missing from the 18‑month list; staff confirmed the project had been moved on the quarterly list and said they had emailed the letting list contact to request it be reinserted. Staff also noted project schedules for other listed projects remain on track.
No formal votes were taken on funding allocations or the letting list at the meeting; staff said they will continue monthly tracking and follow up on the missing Ninth Street entry.
