Town officials told the Select Board they are waiting on Land Court to move forward with foreclosure of contaminated properties on Holman Street, including 24 Holman Street, the site identified in the meeting as the former "Apple Stewart" site.
At the July 9 meeting, a Select Board participant asked whether Land Court or the town was responsible for the next step in the foreclosure process. Templeton’s representative said the town had filed paperwork in 2022 to move the foreclosure forward and that the case is now with Land Court for its review and action.
No new municipal action was announced; board members said the matter remains pending with Land Court and that the town is awaiting the court’s due diligence and decision.
The Select Board did not provide a timetable for Land Court action or detail the contamination type, required remediation steps, or estimated cleanup costs during the July 9 discussion.
