At its July 2025 meeting the Technical Transportation Committee unanimously recommended that the policy board approve two amendments to the transportation improvement program (TIP): an award of federal transit funds to Wabash Center and programming of an omitted phase for Bridge 80 and Bridge 83 in the 2026–2030 TIP.
Doug, the committee’s TIP presenter, said Wabash Center received Federal Transit Administration Section 5310 funds to replace four low-floor minivans and one small transit bus. Doug told the committee the project cost is $450,000 and the FTA award covers $382,500 (85 percent): “They actually received quite a bit, enough to replace 4 low floor minivans and 1 small transit bus. The total cost of this project is $450,000 and they were awarded $382,500.” The committee voted to recommend approval to the policy board.
Doug also asked the committee to program a previously omitted phase for Bridge 80 and Bridge 83 into the 2026–2030 TIP. He said the information had been left out of the 2026–2030 package and that the phase currently appears in the 2024–2028 TIP; the committee moved and seconded a recommendation to the policy board to add the phase into the 2026–2030 TIP and approved the recommendation by voice vote.
Both actions were recorded as recommendations to the policy board; the Technical Transportation Committee did not adopt final funding obligations at the meeting.
