The superintendent, Dr. Massimino, clarified custodial arrangements and said the event was a township event and custodians are a shared service. "It's a township event, so the cleanup would be not... The custodians are shared service," he said, and added that because custodial staff were already scheduled to be on site there would be no extra expense to the school district.
Burtadi expressed concern about safety for large public events held at school facilities and about potential cleanup costs; district officials responded during the public comment period and characterized this as existing policy and shared-service practice rather than a new decision.
