At the July 14 meeting the Michigan City Redevelopment Commission formally appointed Commissioner Sherry Wilson as the RDC’s representative to the Historic Review Commission.
Staff noted the RDC is entitled by ordinance to a representative on the Historic Review Commission and that the Redevelopment Office and public works staff had been coordinating to ensure the commission had balanced expertise. Commissioner Wilson was nominated and seconded; the motion passed by voice vote.
Commission members praised Wilson’s construction and contractor experience and said her participation should help streamline review of historic-preservation matters for small investors and downtown property owners. Staff will notify the Historic Review Commission and complete any required appointment paperwork.
