Redevelopment staff told the Michigan City Redevelopment Commission on July 14 that construction of the Eleventh Street station and its attached parking garage is substantially complete, with remaining punch-list items and operational handover to follow.
Staff said most construction work is done and crews are completing minor punch-list items such as ensuring keying of doors and other small finish items. The commission plans to address operation and maintenance arrangements and referenced existing agreements that predate and were revised during construction; staff said they will coordinate with the city and the construction/contractor team to finalize transition to operations.
Commissioners noted the site provides a new downtown asset and encouraged commissioners and citizens to tour the facility; staff gave a brief update that the parking garage structure and tower work continue to progress on schedule.
