Arlington Heights School Board awards 2025–26 crossing guard contract to Andy Frane Services

The Arlington Heights District 25 Board of Education voted 6–0 on July 15 to award the district—s crossing guard services contract for the 2025—1026 school year to Andy Frane Services Inc., after staff said Andy Frane was the only bidder that met the district—s insurance requirements. Superintendent Dr. K recommended the award based on the district—s previous successful experience with the company at the corner of Thomas and Belmont. "On behalf of the staff, we are excited to recommend Andy Frane Services," Superintendent Dr. K said. Board Member Kevin moved the motion and Board Member Anisha seconded. The board recorded an unanimous vote in favor. The district received two bids; staff said one bid failed to meet the district—s insurance standards and therefore was disqualified. Board members asked whether the district expected to exceed a $115,000 reimbursement threshold mentioned in the contract description; staff said they did not anticipate surpassing that threshold even with expanded services. Board members also confirmed that crossing guards hired under the contract will be assigned according to the district—s five-priority placement list. The vote was called by the superintendent and recorded as yes from Member Tranter, Member Joghe, Member Scapalato, Member Michael, Member Buk Berger and Member Niermann. The motion carried, 6—0. The approved contract continues the district—s relationship with Andy Frane Services and expands the partnership to cover the coming school year. No contracts or dollar totals beyond the reimbursement threshold were offered during the public discussion. "We did have two bids. Unfortunately, one of them didn't meet the standards for our insurance, so only Andy Frane was able to meet all the requirements of the bid," the superintendent told the board.
