The Bibb County Board of Education voted July 17 to approve renewal of the Renaissance Suite of instructional and assessment services for the 2025–26 school year, consolidating previously separate products into a single contract.
Dr. Lisa Garrett Boyd introduced the item; Dr. Lloyd Rogers explained the suite supports universal screening, progress monitoring, differentiated instruction and predictive analytics tied to state standards. The board approved a purchase order of $1,901,493.25 from general funds and $200,000 from Title I funds for professional learning.
Board member Gary Boyd asked whether the $200,000 in Title I funds was subject to the federal funding hold; Rogers replied those Title I funds “are not held up” and were already in place. Another trustee asked whether the district was adding redundant platforms; Rogers said the district had conducted an instructional audit and elected to consolidate services into the single Renaissance platform, and that other platforms had not been renewed.
The motion to approve was moved by Ms. Hanlon and seconded by Mr. Freeman; trustees voted unanimously to send the item to the consent agenda.
The contract renewal consolidates Renaissance services "to ensure system wide coherence and alignment across the instructional and data systems," according to the administration’s memo presented at the meeting.
