KANE COUNTY, Ill. — The DuPage Soil and Water Conservation District told the Agriculture Committee on July 17 about a cover-crop field day and drone-seeding demonstration funded in part by American Farmland Trust, with registration required.
Isabella Borzica, senior resource analyst with the DuPage Soil and Water Conservation District, said the event will include a drone demonstration by AgFly, a raffle to win drone seeding for a producer and informational presentations about cover crops from local experts. The program will take place at the Idea Garden with follow-up sessions hosted at the Kane County Farm Bureau space.
Borzica said there is no admission charge but registration is required (a QR code was provided at the meeting) and flyers are available for committee members and county communications. The event will feature speakers including Alexis Barnes (Illinois Extension) and representatives from American Farmland Trust and AgFly.
No committee action was taken; Borzica said she would distribute flyers to the committee and county staff for publicity.
What's next: Interested producers should register via the provided QR code; organizers will distribute promotional materials to the committee for local outreach.
