Summary
Ken Levesque of the Veterans Association asked the Traffic and Parking Board to make Pine Street one-way from Robeson to Seaberry for safety reasons. Ken Levesque, executive director of the Veterans Association of Bridal County, asked the Traffic and Parking Board to consider making Pine Street one-way from Robeson Avenue to Seaberry Avenue, citing safety concerns.
Stephanie McCarthy, director of traffic and parking, told Levesque and the audience that the Pine Street item had been placed on the traffic board agenda after it was tabled in the ordinance committee. Because the ordinance committee had tabled the item, McCarthy said the traffic board could not make a motion or take final action on the change at this meeting. She recommended that anyone who came to discuss Pine Street present their remarks during citizen input and said she would bring notes from tonight's citizen comments back to the ordinance committee if and when the item returns to its agenda.
Levesque said the group’s “initial ask” remains the same: convert Pine Street to one-way between Robeson and Seaberry for safety reasons. McCarthy confirmed she would record citizen comments and pass them along to ordinance committee staff if the item is reintroduced.
No formal action was taken by the traffic board on Pine Street at this meeting because the matter is currently pending before the ordinance committee. Residents who wish to follow the matter were advised to contact the traffic office for ordinance committee and council meeting dates.
