The board voted to authorize staff to notify the Intergovernmental Cooperation Risk Management Trust (ICRMT) that the county may withdraw from certain lines of coverage and to permit staff to solicit commercial reinsurance quotes.
At a regularly scheduled meeting, Billard, board member, made the motion to authorize sending the notification letter; Doug Traeger, board member, seconded the motion. The board approved the motion by roll call, with ayes recorded from Joe, Sandy, Doug, Gary, Greg and Loretta.
The authorization allows Tony, staff member, to “go to market” for lines of coverage and requires sending ICRMT a formal letter saying the county may withdraw effective Dec. 1 if alternate coverage is secured. Staff said the county has delivered a similar letter the last two years to comply with ICRMT procedures. Mike, staff member, said commercial reinsurance quotes usually arrive in October or the first week of November, and that staff will press underwriters and report results back to the board.
Board members asked for a roll-call vote when the motion was taken. The motion passed on a roll call recorded at the meeting.
The action directs staff to proceed with marketing and to provide updates to the board; no final contract award or change in coverage was made at the meeting.
