Staff reported ongoing planning and coordination for the Hall of Justice (HOJ) HVAC and related courtroom changes. Savannah Clement said daily coordination meetings are underway and IT staff are building a SharePoint site for project communications, agendas and outstanding items. Staff told the board that contractors will mobilize the week of Aug. 18 for soft construction and that heavier construction and moves are scheduled to start in mid‑September.
Commissioners asked about meeting-room AV across the hall; staff said they have requested approval to issue a purchase order for AV equipment for a pop-up court system that will allow court to be held in alternate spaces. Data lines have been run, and staff said AV will be installed prior to any court dates. Security staffing will be reallocated from existing enforcement personnel: one security guard will be transferred from the Northwest enforcement contract and a sheriff's deputy will be assigned to the site, staff said, adding the change will not create an added staffing cost. Staff described coordination with IT leads Mac and Mike and Jordan for scheduling and said a SharePoint site will enable commissioners to view real-time progress if they want access.
No board vote or formal action was taken; staff will proceed with procurement and coordination and provide commissioners access to the SharePoint project site.
