Permit review nearly complete; town engineer stormwater comments addressed and mylar printing reduced

Project staff told the Billing Committee on July 16 that the major outstanding condition for the building permit was town engineer sign‑off on stormwater comments and that the project team had submitted responses that day to the town planner, who will forward them to the town engineer.

The presenter said the team printed the DEM mylar set required for planning-board sign‑off and that, after discussion with a town official, they reduced the number of printed mylars from earlier expectations by placing multiple drawings on each sheet — a change staff said will reduce printing costs charged to reimbursables.

Staff also said RIDOT clearance was clarified at the July 9 planning board meeting and that the senior RIDOT engineer then requested hard copies of the prints before signing off. The presenter noted differing requirements among agencies for hard‑copy submittals and said staff was still chasing the RIDOT signature.

According to the presenter, the building official has completed review and the building permit is ready to be issued once required signoffs and submittals are in place. No formal permit was issued at the July 16 meeting; staff said they will advise the committee when the permit is released.
