The Committee of the Whole approved the purchase and installation of furniture, fixtures and equipment for the new public safety center on July 11 from Innovative Office Solutions under the OMNIA cooperative contract. Staff said selections were reviewed and tested by end users, including police and fire personnel, and the purchase fits within the project’s FF&E budget.
City staff said the project team had conducted multiple reviews with staff to test chairs, gun-belt compatibility and other operational considerations. The contract is through an OMNIA cooperative purchase order and includes installation. City staff indicated the FF&E budget is on target for the line item discussed.
Councilor Johnson moved approval of the purchase so furniture and installations could be scheduled with an anticipated facility opening this fall. The motion passed by voice vote.
