Board approves acting-superintendent and acting-principal designations after debate over timing and legal scope

The Cornwall Central School District Board of Education voted July 14 to approve resolutions naming who may act on behalf of the interim superintendent and building principals in short-term emergency situations. Board members debated whether to approve the acting-superintendent and acting-principal resolutions now or wait until the district completes contract updates and the code of conduct. After discussion, the acting-superintendent resolution passed and the acting-principals resolution was approved as written.
