Commissioners approve utility permits, Southwest Water agreement, burn authorization and small grants

In routine business Tuesday, the Dunn County Board of Commissioners approved several smaller but operationally important items.

The board approved three utility permits — for McKenzie Electric on First Street Southwest, a gas line crossing on a Hundred and Fifteenth Avenue and a fiberglass production water crossing on Sixth Street Northwest — on a motion by Commissioner Klayman that passed on roll call.

Commissioners reapproved a revised hydraulic improvement agreement with Southwest Water Authority after staff said the changes were minor and largely editorial. The motion to approve the revised agreement carried on a second and voice vote.

The board also authorized a one‑time controlled burn and burial of an old structure at a rural site after a property owner requested to clear the parcel for new construction. The authorization required that the burn be monitored, and the remaining materials be buried within a week; the motion passed on a roll call vote.

Separately, the board approved a $1,500 sponsorship for a July 5 golf scramble to underwrite participant lunches at Madison Hole Golf Course; commissioners noted the funding comes from discretionary event sponsorships.
