Dunn County commissioners voted to accept a $99,009.44 bid from High Point to replace the metal roof at the county sign shop in Kildeer.

Will, a county facilities representative, presented two bids for mechanically seamed standing‑seam metal roofs; staff recommended High Point’s low bid, which included removal of the existing roof and installation of a mechanically sealed standing‑seam product. "We felt like removing the old product would be the way to go," the facilities representative said, noting the decision would allow inspection and potential repair of old insulation and water damage before installing the new roof.

Commissioner Olsen moved to accept the High Point bid; Commissioner Pelton seconded. The roll call vote recorded two no votes (Commissioner Heizer and Commissioner Kleeman); the measure passed with a majority in favor.

Staff said the chosen standing‑seam product included mechanically sealed seams rather than clip‑together panels; the mechanical seam, staff said, prevents fastener failures and reduces leak risk. Facilities staff also said that if insulation issues are discovered once the old roof is removed, the county would arrange repairs and cover those costs from existing budgets.

Work is anticipated to start within a month and a half of award, staff said, with the vendor noting lead‑time to schedule removal and replacement before winter.
