Staff said the welder add-on cost was $10,000, and that the county had budgeted the purchase.
Commission discussion briefly addressed local service and warranty considerations; commissioners noted Wesley Motors is in Minot for local service, while Red Rock represented a complete package delivered ready for use. A commissioner moved and a second was made; a roll call vote was taken and the motion carried with all commissioners voting yes.
The commission gave staff authority to complete the purchase from Red Rock and proceed with procurement steps. The purchase will be completed through county procurement processes and charged to the department99s approved budget for vehicle replacements and equipment.
