The Williams County Board of County Commissioners on a unanimous roll call approved a builder-assistance application from Denali Building Group and authorized the chairman to sign the award documents.
County staff said Denali requested $43,200 to support the next eight houses in the developer's local project; staff noted a $200 correction to the recommended amount on the cover sheet and confirmed the full $43,200 recommendation. The county reported roughly $1,250,000 remained in the program's funds as of that meeting.
Lindsey Herriman, identified in the meeting as a program representative, said the applicant requested additional funding for excavation and called the request a learning experience for the county about eligibility. Herriman also said the county continues to receive interest in the program and that the city of Williston (referred to as "the city of Wilson" in the transcript) has issued many building permits and shown continued interest in applying.
Commission discussion was brief; one commissioner asked whether the motion included authorization for the chairman to sign and was told yes. The board moved, seconded and approved the application by roll call with all members voting yes.
The county did not specify program eligibility rules in detail during the discussion, and the motion included only approval of this application and signature authorization. Staff said recordkeeping shows the program remains active and that staff expect continued activity over the summer.
