Sue, a staff member, told the Washington County Safety Committee she is seeking permission to backfill a pending retirement and to change the staffing pattern.
"My request is to backfill a impending retirement. We have a long term 21 year staff member who will be retiring at the July, and her civil service title is a program senior program specialist. And I would like permission to backfill with a program specialist position, as the senior position is really with some longevity at the, working at the office," Sue said.
The position is currently a grade 15 and the requested replacement would be a grade 13, Sue said. She added the role runs the ATIE/ETAF program, which is funded by the state through the Department of Criminal Justice Services and reimburses the county. "...it's a program that is funded a 157,000 from DCJS, and it works with those, supports for felony drug court and both Warren and Washington and misdemeanor drug court, for Warren County, and we get reimbursed from the state for that," she said.
Committee members asked procedural questions and expressed support for efficiency. A motion to approve the personnel change and staffing pattern was moved and seconded; the committee voted in favor.
The committee did not discuss hiring timelines or the name of the incoming employee at the meeting.
Committee actions on the request were limited to approving the backfill and associated staffing pattern change; any subsequent hiring steps will follow normal civil service and human resources procedures.
