Warren County supervisors approved a request June 27 to advertise a vacant third assistant public defender position at a higher salary to reflect experience needed for family court work.
County staff said the Public Defender’s Office needs to offer a more competitive salary to hire candidates with the qualifications required for family court representation and to align pay with other county attorneys.
John (staff member) said the office has the funding to advertise at the increased rate. The committee moved the request to the board; Supervisor Bean made the motion and Supervisor Mayday seconded. The committee approved the request by voice vote.
