The staff member said the corridor includes an optional W3-5 "reduced speed ahead" sign and provided ODOT District 1's contact number, (419) 222-9055, for residents who want to verify compliance. The staff member said, given that the signage meets standards, no additional council action was required and moved to close the item under open issues.
Councilmember Layman seconded the motion; the council recorded votes as Layman: yes; Mendoza: yes; Lake: yes and approved closing the item.
The comments were described as a response to concerns raised by Councilmember Baker at a prior meeting. The staff member recommended residents contact ODOT District 1 for technical verification rather than the city taking further action.
