Deedham — The Deedham Conservation Commission voted unanimously on July 10 to issue a certificate of compliance for work at 44 Gary Road, concluding that required restoration plantings had been installed and were healthy. The vote followed a site inspection by staff that confirmed the two required maple trees were growing well.
Karen Catrone, a staff member who inspected the property, said the project was a teardown and rebuild and that the property owner had been required to plant two maple trees as a condition of the order of conditions. “The two maple trees are doing very well,” Catrone said during the commission meeting.
The commission’s chair, Dave Harrer, opened the agenda item and called for comments from members before a roll-call vote. Commissioners voted in favor of issuing the certificate; Reid, Bill, Fred, Larry, Paulina and Chair Dave Harrer recorded “aye” during the roll call.
Catrone told the commission the project had removed one tree during construction and that staff had recommended vigilance for invasive plants in the restored area. She also noted there was no ongoing monitoring requirement attached to the planting condition for this property.
The vote authorized staff to complete and deliver the certificate to the property owner; the inspector said she would confirm whether the owner preferred mail or in-person pickup.
The item was taken from the meeting’s consent-style business; no public comment was recorded on this item.
The commission meets monthly and posts recordings and supporting materials to the town’s YouTube channel and commission website.
