Local jurisdictions report sidewalk, road and beacon projects; NMDOT and cities coordinate HSIP-funded beacons

NMDOT representatives said ongoing work continues along Travis and that Main Street is complete, with a walking path under the new box culvert reopened. NMDOT staff reported coordination to install rectangular rapid flashing beacons (RRFBs), including a potential installation on NM‑28 near Mesilla Town Hall funded through HSIP money coordinated with Santa Fe. They also said crossing improvements at Valley Drive/outfall channel remain a possibility and that other crossings are under consideration.
