The Gallatin County Commission on July 1 moved through a packet of board appointments and reappointments to multiple local advisory and special-district boards.
The commission held a brief public comment period and discussed a contested seat on the City–County Board of Health. Commissioner remarks supported reappointing Sherry Watson, who sought another three-year term, over a competing applicant, Jody Hedges. A commissioner moved to appoint Sherry Watson to a term expiring June 28, 2028; the motion carried.
The commission then approved a slate of additional appointments and reappointments, including:
- Allen McClain Jr., reappointed to a three-year term on the Big Sky Meadow Trails Recreation and Park Special District (term to expire April 1, 2028).
- John Edwards and Michael Lapp, reappointed to two-year terms on the Consolidated Board of Adjustments (terms to expire June 30, 2027).
- Bruce Grubbs, reappointed to a three-year term on the Gallatin County Urban Transportation District (term to expire July 1, 2028).
- Gene Townsend, reappointed to a three-year term on the HRDC Board of Directors (term to expire July 1, 2028).
- Dan Treinen, reappointed to a three-year term on the Tax Appeal Board (term to expire July 1, 2028).
- Jason Faturos and Delbert Turman, reappointed to three-year terms on the West Yellowstone Hebgen Basin Refuse District (terms to expire June 30, 2028).
Commissioners noted the appointments were advertised in the Bozeman Daily Chronicle and on the county website to meet notice requirements. The commission thanked appointees for their service.
