Gallatin County adopts Safe Streets for All plan to pursue federal implementation funds

The Gallatin County Commission adopted a resolution (2025-045) adopting the county’s Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) action plan on June 17, clearing the way to apply for federal implementation funding.
“Adopting this action plan allows us to apply for implementation plan funds this cycle through the SS4A program,” said Deputy County Administrator Rowley during the regular agenda presentation. A consultant from RPA was online during the presentation to answer technical questions.
Commissioners and staff said the plan reflects public comment and provides a roadmap to pursue grant dollars for expensive infrastructure projects. “This is an important road map and also requirement for accessing future grant dollars to support improvement projects around the county,” the chair said.
A motion to adopt Resolution 2025-045 was moved, seconded and approved without further public comment recorded in the transcript. The commission noted the plan is integral to advancing large, multimillion-dollar transportation and safety projects in Gallatin County.
The action finalizes the plan-approved step that staff said is necessary to be eligible for SS4A implementation funds; no additional conditions or implementation deadlines were stated in the meeting record.
