City council voted to determine the sufficiency of an application to add parcels to the Sunbury New Community Authority and to set a public hearing on the petition under Chapter 349 of the Ohio Revised Code. City Administrator Chris Hennessy told council the only change to the draft before them was the addition of a third owner, Sunbury Woodland Lake 1 LLC, and that the petition is focused on funding infrastructure "to be able to build roads, particularly 4 Winds Drive," not on zoning or development approvals. Council suspended the rules and passed the resolution; roll call votes were unanimous with five ayes. The resolution notifies property owners and sets the required public hearing date as required by state law for creation or amendment of a community authority. Officials said the New Community Authority would provide a mechanism for funding public infrastructure that benefits the parcels in the petition; details on the public hearing schedule and required notices were to follow in compliance with statutory requirements.
