Saratoga County’s Law and Finance Committee authorized agreements totaling $456,352 for work on the Saratoga Springs force main and annual maintenance of the UV disinfection system at the Saratoga County Sewer District No. 1 wastewater treatment plant.
The committee approved an agreement with Hazen and Sawyer DPC for $47,500 for work related to the condition assessment of the force main in the city of Saratoga Springs and an agreement with Xylem Water Solutions USA Inc. for $408,852 for additional condition-assessment work. Both items were presented as amendments to the 2025 county budget that would decrease sewer fund balance by the stated amounts. The committee also authorized an annual maintenance agreement with Xylem for the UV disinfection system in the amount of $17,738.
These items were described as approved at the most recent Sewer Commission meeting on May 29, 2025, and were presented to the Law and Finance Committee as housekeeping and implementation steps. Supervisor Murray moved the law-and-finance agenda items and Supervisor Veach seconded; the motion passed by voice vote.
The transcript does not include a technical presentation on the force-main condition assessment results, engineering recommendations, or a construction timeline. County staff recorded the contract amounts and fund-balance adjustments; further technical reports or project schedules would be expected from the contracted firms as the assessment proceeds.
The agreements authorize the county to proceed with condition-assessment work and annual UV maintenance; subsequent capital work, if needed, would require separate approvals and funding.
