Saratoga County’s Law and Finance Committee approved four Federal Aviation Administration Airport Improvement Program grants and authorized a one‑year lease for rental‑car space at Saratoga County Airport during its June 11, 2025 meeting.
The four FAA awards total $748,307, with county matching shares totaling $18,710. The grants include $296,843 for construction services related to a portion of the new terminal building (county share $7,422); $172,975 to update airport obstruction data from the 2016 master plan (county share $4,325); $233,394 for design services on reconstruction of Runway 5–23 (county share $5,835); and $45,095 for design, planning and acquisition of avigation easements to remove obstructions in the runway protection zone off Runway 14 (county share $1,128).
The committee also authorized a lease with 2116 Rent A Car LLC to begin July 1, 2025. The one‑year lease covers office space, a car wash bay and reserved parking near the terminal; rent is $200 per month for the first six months and $400 per month for the second six months. A public hearing on the lease was scheduled to begin immediately following the committee meeting.
Supervisor Grasso moved the package of airport items and Supervisor Murray seconded; the motion passed by voice vote. The transcript records that these grant awards and the lease were added to the department budget where required; no detailed procurement schedule or construction timetable was discussed during the meeting.
County staff identified these as items approved by the Airport Improvement Committee on June 3, 2025. The record does not include comments from airport tenants or members of the public during the committee vote.
The county will need to finalize any required grant acceptance paperwork and complete lease execution following the public hearing.
