Palm Beach County Commission on Ethics presents advisory services to Riviera Beach council

A representative from the Palm Beach County Commission on Ethics gave a presentation to the Riviera Beach City Council explaining the commission’s advisory and training work for local public officials.
Gina Levesque, Intake and Compliance Manager for the Palm Beach County Commission on Ethics, described the commission’s mission to promote integrity and public trust, to prevent conflicts of interest and to issue advisory opinions and training. Levesque said the board provides oversight for more than 12,000 public officials, employees and advisory board members in the county and that it publishes advisory opinions, gift forms and voting conflict forms on its website.
Levesque said the commission emphasizes prevention through training and that it has issued nearly 560 advisory opinions to date. She explained the commission’s authority to impose certain penalties, including reprimands and fines up to $500 per violation, but said education and guidance are the primary tools. Levesque provided the commission’s phone number (561‑355‑1915) and website (palmbeachcountyethics.com) and offered training and advisory resources to Riviera Beach officials and staff.
Council members thanked Levesque for the briefing and for leaving business cards to facilitate follow‑up training requests.
