The Judson ISD board voted to direct the superintendent to publish a request for qualifications (RFQ) to hire a vendor to perform the district’s fiscal‑year 2024–25 annual financial audit and asked staff to return with proposals in July.

Trustees said they wanted new external review after the district retained the same auditing firm for multiple years and discussed the practical timing to change auditors before the audit season begins. The board’s motion specified the RFQ process (qualifications‑based) so the district can evaluate firms by expertise and then negotiate engagement terms.

Administration said several firms were already contacted about potential availability and the business office will advertise an RFQ promptly; the superintendent and finance staff said they will return with ranked submissions and a recommendation for board approval. The board also discussed starting a risk assessment/internal audit RFQ to bring in an internal auditor to examine district processes and to prioritize high‑risk departments; trustees signaled they expect that RFQ to be published quickly as well and for the internal audit committee to review responses.

The motion to issue the RFQ for the external audit was made by Trustee Amanda Ryan and seconded by Trustee Latit Boteet; the board approved the motion 7–0.
