Canyon ISD announces appointment of Stacy Ann Snow as Jeanie Howe Elementary principal

CANYON, Texas — Canyon ISD trustees were informed at their June special meeting that Stacy Ann Snow has accepted the district’s offer to become principal of Jeanie Howe Elementary School.
Dr. Flusche, staff member, told trustees the district ran two rounds of interviews and narrowed five initial candidates to two finalists, both internal. Following cabinet interviews, the district offered the position to Stacy Ann Snow, who accepted. “Stacy Ann has been serving as the assistant principal at Sundown Lane Elementary School since 2022,” Dr. Flusche said, and he described her prior roles in student support and classroom teaching at district campuses.
Because Snow is already employed in the district on an administrator contract, Dr. Flusche told the board the district will not present a new principal contract for board approval at this time; the administrator contract continues. The district said Snow could not attend the meeting because she was on a preplanned trip.
Trustees did not take a vote or otherwise act formally on a contract; the board was notified of the appointment as an informational item.
Staff said the vacancy had been filled following an internal search and committee interviews that included parents, teachers and administrators. No additional personnel details or salary changes were presented at the meeting.
At the meeting close, trustees moved on to other agenda items.
