MVPD said officers on May 11 found a man slumped at the wheel of a vehicle in a grocery-store parking lot. Officers observed what the department described as drug paraphernalia on the subject’s lap; the man acknowledged intending to use and MVPD said the matter was referred to the prosecuting attorney’s office for possession of a controlled substance. In a separate incident on May 24, officers arrested a person in court on an outstanding warrant for assault of a child. During a search the department said officers found contraband and the subject was booked on a new possession charge in addition to the warrant arrest. MVPD did not release names in either update.
