Driver arrested on suspicion of DUI after vehicle crashes off porch and down embankment

MVPD reported that on May 16 officers were dispatched to a vehicle-versus-porch crash and found a vehicle down an embankment. An occupant told officers he had intended to park but “I think I hit the gas instead of the brake.” Officers, concerned the driver was impaired, offered a portable breath test that the department said read 0.12. MVPD said the driver was arrested; after medical treatment the driver was booked for driving under the influence. The department told listeners the driver had a previous DUI conviction. MVPD did not release the driver’s name in the update.
