Resident raises motorized-bike safety concerns; council's Public Safety Committee to discuss e-bikes and speed next week

Resident Jacqueline Pfeiffer told the Snoqualmie City Council on July 14 that motorized bikes in town are "frightening" and urged city officials to address the issue. Councilors and public-safety committee members responded that the topic is scheduled for discussion at the Public Safety Committee meeting the following week and encouraged the resident to attend and provide details.

Mayor Ross and committee members noted that the Public Safety Committee will consider "ebikes and emotercycles" at its Monday meeting at 5 p.m., and that public testimony at that committee meeting is welcome.

Councilor Wharton (chair) summarized other public-safety priorities the committee will address at the meeting, including continued discussion of neighborhood speeding and the need to gather resident input for enforcement and public-awareness strategies. Committee members emphasized public outreach and encouraged residents to attend the Monday meeting or to submit written comments.
