Corsicana ISD board approves 2025–26 pay scales, raises for teachers and staff

Corsicana — The Corsicana ISD Board of Trustees approved updated pay scales for the 2025–26 school year Tuesday in an action item presented by district staff. District staff said the teacher pay scale was adjusted to reflect provisions of House Bill 2: teachers with three and four years of service will receive $2,500 more than last year; teachers with five or more years will receive $5,000 more. Teachers with zero, one or two years of service will receive a 2% raise. Staff said those 2% raises were not mandated by the state and were not directly state-funded. Professional support staff (counselors, librarians, nurses) were placed on the former teacher pay scale with a 2% raise per step, the district said. The police department received a new pay scale; custodians received a $500 increase on each step; all other auxiliary and paraprofessional staff received a 2% raise. District staff estimated the 2% raises cost roughly $500,000 and said the teacher raises cost about $1.8 million. A trustee moved to approve the 2025–26 pay scales, a second was recorded, the board voted by voice and the chair announced that the pay scales had passed.
