Facilities manager reports park reservations revenue rise, Ag Building and parking work

Public health and natural resources: Steve said mosquito fogging for West Nile virus had been completed in a few communities and that mosquito numbers had recently increased. He also told the board that emerald ash borer had been detected in Watertown, leading to a quarantine restricting movement of firewood outside Connington County; he advised residents to consider treating or removing ash trees because infected trees can become hazardous.
Other operations: Steve said the county conducted a chemical container recycling event, reported good collections of leafy spurge beetles in recent surveys, and that township requests for roadside spraying were being accommodated. He discussed capital work on truck storage at the county building and said bids may be solicited for construction soon.
