The City Council introduced four ordinances to amend Chapter 7 (Traffic) of Linden’s general ordinances, city officials said.
Ordinance 69‑32 would make Kennedy Drive westbound from West Simpson Avenue to South Stiles Street a one‑way. Ordinance 69‑33 would prohibit left turns from Park Avenue northbound into 1951 East Edgar River. Ordinance 69‑34 would add two on‑street handicap parking spaces at 704 West Blanket Street and 1013 Uchee Road. Ordinance 69‑35 would add a “do not block the box” restriction at East Linden Avenue by the driveway of 2005 East Linden Avenue (north side).
Each ordinance was moved, seconded and advanced on introduction during the meeting; roll‑call votes recorded “yes” from council members present. Because the meeting was an introduction/first reading, the ordinances will return for subsequent hearings or final adoption per the city’s ordinance process.
Council members said the traffic code amendments respond to specific neighborhood safety and access concerns; no final implementation dates were set at introduction.
