Anthony DeSalvo, representing The Stuffed Olive, said the business had city approval for a cafe layout and that the operator would stop outside alcohol service at midnight on busy nights though the city's vending ordinance allows later service; the committee voted to grant the change.
Aftershock Classic Arcade (AfterShock) requested to add a patio on a driveway-side area previously used by a now-closed bar. Co-owner Chris Welch said the building owners control the space and would include the patio in the premises; the committee approved the change and staff reminded the applicant to consult city zoning because most private-property outdoor food/drink requires zoning approval.
An application for a new license by This Is All Fabulous (a catering company at the former Cafe La Bella Italia at 1026 N. Sherman Ave.) was approved. Applicant Kyle Kiepert told the committee he had already contacted police, fire and the neighborhood and that his immediate focus is catering and private dinners; committee members advised that the applicant should return with diagrams if and when they seek to add an expanded outdoor seating area toward the rear wooded lot.
The committee also approved an entity reorganization for Madison Axe after owner Brandon Long explained he and his wife had bought out other members of the LLC. Alders moved to grant the owner-change application after confirming no operational changes were planned.
What committee members emphasized: alder members and staff repeatedly reminded applicants that approval here does not always substitute for city zoning approval for outdoor seating on private property. Zoning and building-inspection review may require site drawings or plan-commission review when applicants seek amplified sound or later service times.
