Lowell advisory board approves $7,500 administrator stipend and sets regular meeting date

Board member Eric Nelson moved to approve the $7,500 stipend "for the administrator's position, which presently is George Caloris," and the motion passed. A roll call was held for the stipend vote with recorded "yes" responses from Todd Chan, Valerie Opara, Eric Nelson, Mayor Dan Rourke and City Manager Golden.
The board also voted to affirm the regular meeting schedule after Nelson said the third-Wednesday 4:30 p.m. slot had worked in prior discussion. The board approved minutes from its first meeting without objection earlier in the session.
Board members discussed a written declaration of trust that must be signed by members and recorded by the city clerk; members said they will bring signed copies to the next meeting so the clerk can record the document. The board chair and staff confirmed the signatures were being gathered and that the document would be presented to the clerk at the next meeting.
During discussion, a board member reminded the group that the board follows a rule requiring a roll call vote for any item involving money; that procedure was followed for the stipend approval.
Less-critical items included procedural instructions about meeting microphones and recording, and an agreed adjournment at the end of the session.
